Neon Velo partner with Prostate Cancer UK

NEON VELO and Prostate Cancer UK have announced their partnership for 2017 and beyond. The elite cycling team and charity will work together to raise awareness of the most common cancer in men.

NEON VELO, a pro team of cyclists who compete in various races across the UK aims to use their knowledge and expertise to empower and inspire the public to take part in fundraising events for Prostate Cancer UK.

Through offering pro tips and expert advice to supporters of the charity who have signed up to a cycling event, NEON VELO want to enable riders to hit their goals and get the most out of the charity’s cycling events. In addition, the company will also display Prostate Cancer UK’s logo throughout their racing calendar.

Prostate Cancer UK’s overseas challenges, Football to Amsterdam and the Grand Depart Classic, both enter their biggest year this June, whilst the leading men’s charity will also be one of the most represented charities on this year’s Ride London.

Prostate Cancer UK Head of Sports Events Andy Sallnow said: “We’re proud to be partnering with NEON VELO for the season ahead. Over the last few years we have been growing our cycling challenges so the partnership comes at an ideal time to help continue the momentum.

“NEON VELO will be offering pro tips to our peloton of riders raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK, making sure they’ve got all the advice they need to get the most out of their challenge, whether that’s Ride London, the Grand Depart Classic, or any of the other rides in our programme.

“The pro team will also be displaying our logo throughout their race calendar, spreading awareness of prostate cancer to fans nationwide, and internationally.

“Over 47,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that’s 130 men every day. Our ambition is to make sure prostate cancer is a disease that the next generation of men do not need to fear and through the partnership with NEON VELO they hope to get one step closer to achieving this.

“Thank you to NEON VELO, and all of their riders and sponsors, for joining the fight to help stop prostate cancer being a killer.”

NEON VELO’s Team Director, Gabby Durrin said: “The whole team are excited about partnering up with Prostate Cancer UK. Not only will our riders be ensuring everyone raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK by taking to their bike this year gets expert advice and tips, we’re also going to spreading awareness of the condition to thousands of people we’ll be coming into contact with in the season ahead. Knowing how important early diagnosis is for the treatment of prostate cancer, we’re hoping this partnership will save lives.”
