Tough day out for first Prem of the season

The first round of the British Cycling Spring Cup saw the team racing the inaugural East Cleveland Klondike GP.
It was a tough 92 miles with some challenging roads. The race was not without mishaps and unfortunately VELO were victims to crashes.
The team rode fantastically together and were involved in plenty of race action, we are definitely a strong unit this year and so are excited for the rest of the season.
Marc Potts and Will Bjergfelt went down in a crash within the first 10K that took down about 30 riders. The race was neutralised while all the riders involved got on new bikes and the road was cleared. Not a great start to a long day in the saddle. After the race restarted, Jeremy and Marc were in a few small moves but nothing stuck.
The course was one that would wear down the field over each lap and the goal was to keep Mike Cuming and Elliot Porter safe going into the final climb out of Saltburn-by-the-sea. And it was executed perfectly but there was a really untimely crash about 3K out from the finish that took both Mike and Elliot out, with Elliot having to go to the hospital and Mike being looked at by the on site paramedics. Not what we like to see in the first Premier race of the season.
The good news is that the guys are riding well and working well as a team and the coming races should see some great success for the team.
